Track Review: Money of America // Field Studies

The post-rock band Field Studies are building a reputation that is going from strength to strength. Their debut EP Celestial, released in 2013, was a collection of ambient, blissed out tracks and helped them gain recognition from the likes of BBC Radio 1’s Huw Stephens and BBC Radio 6 Music DJ Tom Robinson. Further buoyed by a set at Glastonbury Festival, the band released a new song, ‘Money of America’ in June.

The track opens up with some reverberated guitars with a chorus effect. This puts the listener in a relaxing frame of mind and the pace then quickens into a motivational energetic rush of guitars and drums. This should go down well at live shows, while the vocals showcase a lot of raw passion. All these ingredients come together to create a great summer track, demonstrating that Field Studies are definitely a band to keep an eye on in the future.
